To be Continued, cont’d

Dear readers,

Between catching up on sleep, nailing down end-of-trail logistics, and the usual camp chores, I didn’t have as much time for writing during the weekend as I hoped. This week, I can use part of my lunch break to edit the post, but my usual free time at the end of the day is shifted to just sleeping. As such, the post is mostly put together, but it still needs serious revising until I’m satisfied with it. It’ll be just a few more days, but nonetheless I wanted to explain the delay.

In the meantime, I’m doing well. I did make it to Killington last weekend, and all-out-effort that, on one occasion, had me hiking past midnight. Having secured a new sleeping pad two days ago, I’m resting much better on-trail. My energy and mood improve steadily each day. Vermont is both uplifting and trying, and I look forward to sharing the last jam-packed few days with you. I did manage to select and upload the photos, so you have those to tide you over until I can bestow the full tale.

  1. Get your rest. Although we look forward to hearing from you, your well-being is more important to us.

I’ll post what is happening here. I have more time.

I,ve got a catbird squaking in the backyard. Suppose to hit 105 today. Chance of rain tomorrow and Friday.

Mom bought me a pineapple plant with a 3” pineapple growing on it. I grew one in Florida. I can grow this one in the bay window for the winter. They are a zone 10 plant.

I had an industrial arts conference at killington. Mom rode the tram, I think it was up that mountain. She doesn’t like heights so she sat on the floor until they got to the top.

Toured the proctor marble quarry and plant, and toured the grim reaper plant.
The quarry operates in the summer, and the reaper plant operates in the winter. This gives the locals a chance to work all year around.

Watched a video on the New Hampshire part of the trail. The young lady who did the video has done that part of the trail a couple of times.

Stay high in the mountains, out of the heat until this heat bubble moderates.

We think and talk about you all the time. One day at a time will get you to Katadin soon enough. If we miss anything you can fill us in when you get back.
