The church for the ceremony will be St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, just east of downtown Raleigh (2811 Poole Rd, Raleigh, NC 27610). The reception will take place in St. Monica Hall, just steps away from the western entrance to the church. Dedicated in 1968, the parish is known for its diverse communities, community outreach, and traditional liturgy. The main celebrant will be Father Gregory Plow. Concelebrating with Fr. Gregory will be the pastor of St. Joseph’s, Father Peter Devereux L.C., who is from New Zealand.

The letters over the altar are Latin for “Into Your Wounds Hide Me”, a reference to the Anima Christi we pray after communion. And yes, we’ve had a lot of fun finding a bridesmaid dress color that doesn’t clash with the massive blue wall.

St. Joseph contains the statues of many saints, including St. Joseph (with a box for prayer intentions). We are especially proud of our icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa, blessed by St. Pope John Paul II. The grounds features the Way of St. Joseph (like Stations of the Cross) and a statue of the Sacred Heart where petitions from the St. Joseph box are burned every First Friday.
St. Joseph’s organizes several outreach ministries. On Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM, you’ll find us, Fr. Peter, and many other parishioners distributing coffee and food to the homeless. During Holy Week, the parish sends out teams to visit nearby nursing homes, physical rehabilitation centers, and low-income communities.
We are glad to call St. Joseph our spiritual home and hope you feel at home with the Lord here as we do!
